To all who knew him, David John Shantery, 50, was an amazing human being that suddenly left this earth much too soon. In his honor, we’ve established this Foundation dedicated to friends helping friends in times of tragedy.

David was full of life, love, and humor with an innate sense of duty and honor. If you crossed his path, David is forever etched into your memory as he was truly one-of-a-kind. David was a decorated Cleveland Fireman for 24 years, and a long-standing member of the Carpenters Union Local 435 for 25 years. David was a hero, a beloved son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and friend to countless others. He is greatly missed and will never be forgotten as this Foundation continues his legacy.

The DJS Foundation was created to assist friends facing tragedy. The money raised is what enables us to give back. Funding for the Foundation comes from dinners, raffles, donations, and other charitable events.
